This course is both an introduction to ceramics and an introduction to the Waldie’s studio and methodology.

This will be the last round of Waldie’s 1 for a while – we may (or may not) be back in Spring – so get in now while the getting’s good!

Description

Over fifteen (and a bit) hours of tuition we explore foundational hand building and throwing techniques suitable for all levels of skill and experience; from the absolute beginner to the little bit rusty through to the seasoned maker.*

We will pinch, coil, slab and throw.

Along the way, we’ll explore a range of simple (but effective) decorative techniques and touch on the fundamentals of clay, glaze, and fire.

What’s included:

  • 3 Sundays of making: 10:00am – 3:00pm
  • 1 Sunday morning of glazing: 10:00am – 1:00 pm
  • Maximum: 9 students / Minimum: 4

  • February 16 +  23 + March 2
  • Glazing March 16

*These are processes that I use every day in my own work after more than 20 years of practice.

Fees & Charges

The course fee includes all materials, access to all studio equipment and tools, and the glazing and firing of work made during the course.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations up to 14 days in advance will get a full refund or transfer to a later course. Cancellations 7 days in advance 50% refund or 50% credit to a later course. For cancellations anytime after this no refund will be given.
